Through partnerships with local employers and organisations, we provide hands on experiences that help young adults develop the confidence, skills and understanding needed for future employment, volunteering and independent living. Our goal is to bridge the gap between education and adulthood in a supportive and accessible way.

Wednesday Placements - 10:00-15:00

Designed for SEND young adults to build confidence, independence and real world skills alongside like minded peers in a fun, supportive environment, activities will include:

• Learning the ropes of becoming a dog walker alongside Fit Paws Dog Walking Service.

• Hands on experience with a local dog groomer  at The Grooming Shack.

• Trips to our allotment to harvest fresh vegetables for cooking.

• Cooking and baking to build kitchen confidence.

• Workplace skills through packaging delicious dog treats and entrepreneurship of how to sell items locally.

• Supporting local pet therapy visits to care homes.

Community Outreach and Education

Our young adults and staff play an active role in the local community, visiting care homes to share meaningful experiences with others. These visits provide invaluable opportunities for young adults to build confidence, develop communication and interaction skills and engage in real world professional environments.

Sammy, a registered pet therapy handler, leads the sessions as young adults accompany us on visits, witnessing first hand the joy, comfort and connection our wonderful dogs bring to others and the positive impact this has on their own wellbeing and growth.
